Displays for Women's History Month are located in the first aisle of the reference section, next to the new books shelving by the stairs, and in the small display cases on the first and second floors by the elevator.  Small posters highlighting books in the Library's collection are located at the end of each aisle in the main collection.

The featured genre for Mar. 2-Mar. 15 is science fiction.  Science fiction stories typically include plots and themes exploring the boundaries of science, whether by setting the story somewhere other than Earth or by exploring as-yet-uncharted scientific areas.  Science fiction has been known to drive technological and scientific innovation: a frequently cited example is the similarity between early Star Trek communicators and the common flip phone.

Featured genre displays can be found on the record shelving along the side of the stairs.  Look for Lefty, and you'll find them!

Featured Genre: Travel & Nature

The featured genres for Mar. 16-Mar. 29 are travel and nature books.  These books explore the world either through descriptions of traveling to locations that many people will never have the opportunity to do so themselves (for example, rafting across the Pacific) or through the examination of the natural world.  Kon Tiki, Walden, and A Sand County Almanac are all examples of these genres.
