Accessibility at Van Wagenen Library

This guide provides information on accessibility accommodations for patrons of Van Wagenen Library. Content will cover physical spaces, technology, and access to resources.

Many accessibility features are integrated into the technology available in the Library. Supplemental technology has been purchased in instances where existing hardware and software are not sufficient. This page will inventory what accessible technology is available and how to access it.

Library Computers:

Computers available for our patrons are located on the first floor of the Library. There are a few computers available in room 213 on the second floor when that room is open to quiet study. All computers are equipped with:

  • Screen magnification (zoom text)
  • Screen Reader
  • Speech-to-Text
  • Text-to-Speech

These applications can be accessed under the Start Icon > Settings > xxx

Instruction Lab/Quiet Study - Room 213:

Computers available in the second-floor instruction lab are maintained by the library. They are available for instruction or quiet study. The computers have the same specialized software as the public computers on the first floor.

Print Services:

All print services in the Library are maintained by our Information Technology Services (ITS) team. These include:

  • Main Floor Printers
  • Wireless printing

Large-type signage is posted at all print stations.

Assistive Hardware:

Assistive technology is available for checkout at the Circulation Desk. A valid SUNY Cobleskill ID is needed to check these items out. No holds are available for assistive technology and a  loan period of xxx applies. A renewal can be processed at the Circulation Desk. Please return all items to the Circulation Desk.
