Interlibrary Loan: Home

Purpose

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the process through which borrowers may request material from another library’s collection. The Van Wagenen Library offers this service free of charge to all SUNY Cobleskill faculty, staff and currently registered students in good standing.

Notification and Pickup

Borrowers will be notified through their Cobleskill campus email address when their materials are available. Items awaiting pickup will be held under the requestor’s name for up to 7 days at the Circulation Desk. If they remain unclaimed after this time, they will be returned to the lending library.

Please note that some borrowers have notified us that the emails are going to their spam folders.  Make sure to allow interlibraryloan@cobleskill.edu so that the messages do not go to spam.

Overdue, Lost, or Damaged Materials

Interlibrary Loan items are subject to the same penalties as those of our own materials such as late fines, replacement costs, academic holds, and suspension of borrowing privileges.  Due dates, overdue fines, and lost item charges are determined by the lending library.

If an item which a patron still needs is due back and the lending library will not grant a renewal, we will request another copy for the patron.

CDLC Libraries

CDLC libraries should place requests through the ILL e-form to request materials from our collection.
