Finding Articles From the Library Search
If you're looking only for articles--including scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles--use the dropdown menu beside the main search box to select "Articles."
Enter a few important subject-related keywords in the search box and hit the "Search" button.
Google Search Tips
Did you know you can search Google for just .gov and .edu sites? Here's how:
- Type Site:.gov or Site:.edu and add your keywords
- Ex: Site:.gov Equine coat color genetics
- Ex: Site:.gov Equine coat color genetics
- To search both URLs at once type Site:.gov/.edu
National Center for Biotechnology Information
- NCBI Genome SearchThis search provides information on genomes including sequences, maps, chromosomes, assemblies, and annotations.
- NCBI BLAST Search ToolBLAST finds regions of similarity between biological sequences. The program compares nucleotide or protein sequences to sequence databases and calculates the statistical significance.
- NCBI Database SearchThe National Center for Biotechnology Information advances science and health by providing access to biomedical and genomic information.
Specialized Library Databases
