The required text for the course, Writing about Movies by Gocsik, Monahan, and Barsam, also provides useful guidance on how to complete this assignment.

The essay also requires you to use at least three secondary sources, which must include at least one scholarly, peer-reviewed article or scholarly book. The other sources may include  film reviews written by professional critics and published in reputable sources such as major national newspapers or magazines.
